Karey's riding and vaulting tutelage has gained some notoriety in the AVA Vaulting World Magazine for December 2007. Fiona debuted her vaulting skills at the Garrod Farms Halloween Fest last October. Fiona was a fierce lion, and Suds had pink spots! Karey acted as her coach, and Suds was her mount.

We are so proud of Karey. The Creekside Vaulting Club Team, competing in the "C" category, placed second overall in the USA. It was an extremely close competition with only four hundreths of a point separating them from first place after three days of competition. Go Creekside!
Karey's individual competition, at the Brone level, went as well as the team competition. She was named Reserve Champion (2nd place) by the AVA and the USEF in the Bronze class. With this victory she will be attempting to compete in the higher Silver class next year, with training starting in the fall. Additionally, Karey was named "AVA Zone Champion" in her class, a multi-state honor which denotes her placing in local and regional events where she had numerous first place finishes in 2007. Go Karey!

On 5 July Chance To Dance celebrated her 3rd birthday. Karey made some carrot cake muffins for her.
In the spring of 2007, Mrs. Markham's 2nd and 3rd grade class had reading targets. This year, the prize for those who excelled was to come up to the farm and meet the ponies. It proved to be a good incentive, as several students made the grade!
After meeting the ponies and learning about caring for them and tacking them up, the stuents took a ride to the ring for a lesson and some riding.
